This was by far the best family vacation we’ve ever taken! It exceeded our expectations and we will have such wonderful memories to cherish forever! The property is so beautiful! You are surrounded by the Los Padres National Forest on a real working ranch. We had so much fun visiting with all the animals and getting eggs for breakfast from the chickens. There are goats, sheep, alpacas, cows, horses, chickens, pigs, and macaw’s! Oh and some of the most friendliest dogs you’ll ever meet! The lake was beautiful and we went swimming and took the canoes out on the lake. There are ducks and lots of baby ducks too! You can fish right off the dock or from one of the boats. We loved spending time in the kitchen and enjoyed all our meals there with gorgeous views of the lake and the breezes that flow through the windows of the kitchen were my favorite.. so peaceful and relaxing! We stayed in a safari tent and what a fun time that was! We were warm all night.. the blankets that were provided were perfect! We had views of the lake and beautiful rocky mountains and trees! My sons and myself included most definitely enjoyed the “Gators”… the John Deer Jeep’s that are provided for you to get around the property! We had so much fun and my sons want to own one themselves now when they grow up (their exact words :)) !! Another highlight of the trip was horseback riding! What an incredible experience that was! So worth it! The horse guide Kerri is wonderful and full of knowledge about the ranch and can answer all of your questions. The game room was also very neat and we spent some time in there as well! Our last night on the ranch we road out to the pasture and gazed at the stars with the two enormous telescopes they have out there! Our family had the best time and we already want to come back.. in fact, we didn’t want to leave. Next time we go my boys want to try out the shooting range.. we didn’t have enough time on this trip.. there is just so much to do! I wish we would have stayed one extra day! I’m sure I’ve left out so much of all the wonderful things to do while you stay at Rancho Grande but you’ll just have to see for yourselves! Thank you Richard and Alex for an incredible time!
