Subject: Letter of recommendation
To whom it may concern,
I am writing this letter to wholeheartedly recommend the Beach City Baseball Academy as an organization whose presence and programming would be an asset to any community. My son has been playing on one of their travel baseball teams for three years, and in that time I have been extraordinarily impressed by the organization, their commitment to the children and to the community, and the overall integrity with which they conduct their business.
As a starting point, they hire exceptional coaches who not only know baseball extremely well but also understand how to work with kids to help them get the most out of their youth sports experiences, from building skills to learning life lessons. But beyond that, they have provided a host of opportunities for their members that are unique and extremely valuable. As an example, through BCBA our family has had the opportunity to host children from both Germany and Japan in international baseball exchange programs. In addition, my son has had the chance to volunteer on weekends at the BCBA facility working with developmentally disabled children, helping to teach those children basic baseball skills and enabling my son to learn the importance of helping those less fortunate. These are opportunities I never imagined he would have when we signed him up as a 10-year-old.
Further, beyond the direct experiences our family has had, I have watched with pride (as a member) as BCBA has donated money and resources to their community, including making donations to Jackie Robinson’s high school in Los Angeles when their fields were in disrepair as well as donations to the El Segundo and Manhattan Beach Little League organizations, among others.
There are other baseball programs closer to our home (we commute over an hour each way multiple times a week to go to practices), but we are committed to BCBA because of the example they are setting for our son, and because of the commitment they have made to help their community and especially kids in need.
I hope you are fortunate enough to work with BCBA in your community, and I would be happy to speak with anyone to elaborate on any of the above.
Best Regards,
Jon Kraft
